No wonder so many investors have been running to my website the last week. Moody’s cut McClatchy Company’s rating to Baa and threatened to take them to junk status today.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Looks like Moody’s knows the same McClatchy we know.. leveraged BS.
Ok Kev – time to sell and put all that money into dad’s buyout to get rid of the junk status. Or, maybe you can sell your last vote on the Pirates Board for another mil or two to Ogden "losing money in his newspaper business too" Nutting.
and when the clowns

Hey man – like your stuff. Nice to have a guy that tells the truth even if it isn’t “nice.” I’m involved in a 9 owner Rotisserie League where we keep 15 guys every year and draft 25 players before the season starts. Anyway amongst my 15 keepers were a couple Pirates. One is Jason Bay whom I drafted with the last pick of the first round last year (equivalent to the 11th round – ’cause we all had 10 keepers coming into the draft). Very pumped about Bay – just curious as to what your projected numbers are for him. Can he possibly reach 30 SB’s – I noticed last year he rarely gets caught stealing. By the way – it’s almost impossible to find something bad to read about him. Glad to see you comment about his weak arm – this could be what keeps him from being an MVP cause it sure looks like the rest of his game is MVP-worthy. So that brings me to my other Pirate keeper – Oliver Perez. 2 years ago coming into the draft – I could only keep 10 guys and Perez was one of them as a no-brainer coming off his stellar ’04 season. Best Kd9 in the league with over 230 strikeouts at 23 years old. Each owner now gets to maintain 15 keepers – and Perez made it as my last keeper. A far cry from where I had him projected the year before. I was very frustated last year with him, but still have hope he will get back to where he once was. Here’s my other question to you – will he ever get his fastball back into the mid 90′s or will he top off in the upper 80′s for the duration of his career? What are your projected numbers for him? And finally – I drafted M.Gonzalez this year – how does he look, what are your projections for him, and what do you think his future looks like in the Steel City?
Thanks man and keep the articles coming,

Bay offers what every GM in the game wants – offense, offense, and offense and he’s a good guy too. I think he’ll regress a bit from last years numbers but not much. His D is not good as you might have heard in today’s game, for example. But, how many corner OF’s are that good? His arm is poor.
Perez – if Littlefield signs this young man to a multi-year, he’ll do fine. If Littlefield snobs him again this year, expect Ollie to dog it. Oliver is no different than you or me.. he has value but he isn’t going to let the cat out of the bag until he gets paid to do so. Why risk a shoulder problem when he is making $400K? You have to love Boras. I expect to see Oliver with a fat paycheck and 15 wins. His velocity has been fine.. the rumors about high 80′s are just that – rumors. He was popping 92+ yesterday.
Gonzalez is a few years from being a premium product. He still struggles to find the plate when under the gun. Expect the unexpected from him this year but he’ll be a Gagne by 2008. I don’t see him going anywhere in the future.
Thanks for the kudos on the articles. It is *very* hard to be a Pirate fan these days as the truth is more often negative than positive.
