Source: Bucs want Sano. Sano doesn’t want Bucs?

While a Pirates beat reporter continues to claim the Pirates made an offer to Miguel Sano, two sources have told me today that they haven’t yet made a “formal” offer and, in fact, may never get a chance to.  One of the sources stated the Pirates appear to have set Sano’s value range lower than the current market conditions for the potential superstar and appear unwilling to budge.  Another source told me today that he doesn’t believe the Pirates were ever on Sano’s radar, although Sano was in the cross hairs of the Pirates radar.

I’ve been trying to find out if any club can make a “formal” offer yet with MLB doing an investigation on Sano’s age and perhaps that might be the difference between all the different reports we’re hearing, but each way I turn I’ve gotten a different answer.

Look for the Pirates to sign a few of the lower level Latin prospects instead of Sano.  I think we’ve been out of this race since mid to late May.

That would be bone crushing.  Can you cite a source?

jake doesnt use sources. He uses his crystal ball, but it has a crack in it. Most of the time these predictions are from LF.

Your tirades about Jake are getting old. Why don’t you go find a new source for info. I come here to keep up with the bucs and get an inside point of you, JAKE”S TAKE. Go start your own blog and see if anyone reads it. If Jakes criticisim or points of view BOTHER you, then LEAVE. Whats the problem here.

He takes the time out of his busy life to blog about our beloved bucco’s and all you do is rip on it. Jake forgot more about the game than you will ever know.

Quit your bitchin and go do something else like laundry, dishes or knitting.

U have ur opinion I have mine. He has his. Its a blog. I dont have to agree with everything he says. When i do I say so. When i dont I say so. U see thats how a blog works. I come hear to read his opinion and give my own. I dont need to start my own im happy being here and letting people like u get tired of me like people get tired of him. My biggest gripe with the blogger is his negativity and as a Pirate fan I can understand his frustrations, but come on show me some hope. All the articles dont have to be headline by so and  so F’ED up or Whatever. All im saying is give credit when credit is due especially to a younger player.

If the Pirates dont sign Sano and they use the old excuse that “we made an offer that we felt was fair and unfortunately it wasnt accetped” , then it is definetly time for Nutting to get the f*&%k out of town. They have to sign this guy even if they overpay by 2-3 million just to show the fans that they are really trying to win.

I’m sorry, but I have to question these “sources”. I have read guys that actually get paid to cover these things, and none of them have mentioned the theory that “Sano doesn’t want to be a Pirate”. I also question why no one outside of well, here, ever cites your blog for information. I realize you want to be this “outsider” and want to think you give a different view of the Pirates, but for the love of god, please do not cite “sources”.

I wonder if there is anything good left on the scrap heap to fill the pirates 2 million dominican monies. Was focused on Sano, I really havent looked at anyone else.

LOL — it’s not that he doesn’t want to be a Pirate, it’s that he wants to be a richer something else. ;)

And hey, why the heck should anyone cite this agenda ridden rag? hehe

see, I don’t think they feel that way moondog.. I think they believe they can win without foolish money being spent. Their MO has been to place X value on Y player and either they get him or they don’t, for better or worse.

Neil if youre going to comment on the blog that is fine, but when you do personal attacks on Jake then you have no insightful input.
